Review: Drive Angry 3D
“Wouldn’t wanna be you when Satan finds out!”
I was having a conversation with a friend over Drive Angry (pre-release), I told him I was going to see it and he responded by saying “come on, you have better taste than Drive Angry”. I most certainly do but every now and then I like to indulge after all what is the point of seeing movies if you’re going to watch the same ones again and again? As another friend said after we had finished watching the film, “you would not call Drive Angry a ‘good film’ ” and, again he’s most certainly right. You would not call it a good film but Drive Angry is so inetntionally deranged and ridiculous you cannot help but have an appreciation for a film that’s unconcerned by the metrics of good taste. Review: The Green Hornet is fun, if completely unremarkable exercise in the ‘crusading caper’ genre
Think about this, Kato. We’ve been completely wasting our potential. This city needs our help. We could be heroes!
First things first, The Green Hornet is not as bad as you’ve heard pre-release. Despite its rather low score on Rotten Tomatoes and my friend’s thoughts prior to seeing the film (he heard it was nothing but rubbish but enjoyed it once we left the cinema), it’s better than you would expect; especially for a film with blockbuster aspirations that opened in January. It’s not particularly ambitious and it does falter in some moments but it’s a fun, if wholly generic film.

Review – Tron:Legacy is good, at times thrilling if in the end a little underhwelming
Now, I kept dreaming… dreaming of this world I thought I’d never see. And then, one day, something happened. Something… extraordinary.
The definition of the word legacy is essentially what we leave for others. What does Tron: Legacy leave for its audiences? A thrilling ride? Dazzling visuals? A slightly anaemic story? All are present and while Tron: Legacy is a good film it never manages to move you or excite you in a manner in which you’ve not felt before.
