Trailer watch: Haywire – Gina Carano beats men to a pulp
Haywire
The cheesy voice-over that makes it sound like it’s a bad Euro-trash thriller (“she is our nation’a most valuable weapon”, the inter-titles explaining the plot are cliched (“When they left her with nothing”) and that last line had me howling with laughter. Haywire looks like a very cheesy but enjoyable action film. It feels like it belongs in the 80s, along with (strong>Commando and its ilk and despite getting our share of dumb action films that play like 80s fare (The Expendables, anything with Jason Statham); this has a cast that can actually act (jury is still out on Channing Tatum). Plus its MMA fighter Gina Carano beating the crap out of anything she sees, surely that’s recommendation enough?
She’s only drinking tea? What about having a real breakfast…
…Aha, I see. I think she’s saving her appetite for something a little bigger.
TAP-OUT
Two pillows to rest your head on. Wait, what pillows were you thinking of?
Accidents will happen when you fall asleep at work!
There’s no reason for having this photo other than that beard. Magnificent.
Man of the moment. The Fass.
The Female Commando
Haywire doesn’t have a release date for the UK but will be released in the US on January 20, 2012 and, if IMDb is correct, Ireland will be seeing it August 5th, 2011. A little bit weird that.
